Location and provider details refer to the network that owns or routes the IP. They do not identify your device location or subscriber address.

HOW TO READ
How to read your result
IP information is useful for troubleshooting a network or sharing an address for a remote-access allowlist. IP location is not as precise as GPS, so use each value for the right purpose.
Copy the address first
Use the copy button above when a workplace VPN, server allowlist or support team asks for your public IP.
Check IPv4 or IPv6
Confirm which address format a service requires. A long address containing several colons is IPv6.
Treat location as approximate
A different city does not automatically mean an error. The city may be where the provider registered its network.
COMMON CASES
Why your IP differs at home, work and on mobile
Home Wi-Fi
Several devices often share one public IP through a router. Each device also has a separate private address such as 192.168.x.x.
Work or school network
Security gateways and proxies can make the organization’s shared IP appear. The network name may also identify the institution or its carrier.
Mobile data and VPNs
Mobile IP addresses can change between connections or be shared by many people. With a VPN, websites normally see the VPN server IP.

Frequently asked questions about your IP
Is the address shown here my public IP?
It is the address detected when your connection reached this page. Several devices can share the same public IP when they use a router, workplace network or mobile carrier network.
Why is the IP location different from my actual location?
IP location is an estimate based on the area registered for a carrier or network, not GPS. It may show a carrier gateway or VPN server location and should not be treated as a street address.
Does my IP address always stay the same?
Home and mobile connections can receive a different address after reconnecting, restarting a router or a network change. A separately purchased static IP may remain the same.
What changes when I use a VPN?
Websites generally see the VPN server IP, approximate location and provider instead of the direct connection values. A VPN alone does not block every kind of tracking or guarantee complete anonymity.
Location and network details are approximate values derived from registration and observation of IP ranges. Your current IP may be sent during the lookup, and the displayed location should never be used as an exact address.
